Looking for the way onto the property ladder
By blogger on Nov 28, 2009 in General
I am currently living at home in London, and are desperately seeking a place of my own somewhere far from here. I have just started a new job, to add to my need, for a leading internet search specialist on the south coast near to Brighton.
I am not too excited about the prospect of a long commute up and down the line. It is a great waste of my time and a costly exercise, but for now it is my life. In an ideal world what I am looking for is rented accommodation, for example, I have been seen advertisements entitled ‘property to let West Sussex‘. This would be ideal as my new employment is in Worthing. It is not a problem to me if I find somewhere temporarily to stay in neighbouring Brighton, as it is only 20 minutes by train. The industry that I work in is well represented in Brighton, which is a lively city to live in.
What I would ideally like to do once I have been fully accepted in my new job is to search for a property to buy. The media has reported information recently from the Council of mortgage lenders which suggests their forecasts for house repossessions has thankfully been wildly inaccurate. They had been expecting more than 75,000, and the figure is closer to 45,000. It shows confidence in a market that has been down, althought the figures are still relatively high. In this part of Sussex, there is an increase in demand for new homes with many people looking.
Currently I am one of the lucky ones regularly employed and has been able to save for a small deposit. I will definitely rent for now, before leaping into the world of house ownership.
I am receiving information from companies in West and East Sussex, even though I am travelling from London each and every day. The type of advertisements that had caught my eye included ‘Worthing Estate agents‘. I may not be the only one looking to relocate, as my new company have also received notices entitled ‘commercial property Sussex‘ watch this space!
